Omarchy

ProbeLabsviewing a historical run

A proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Known issueKI-MENU-FILEVIEW-FAILURE-ASYMMETRY

Failed menu FileView reloads are asymmetric: user handler wipes last good items, default keeps stale set

OpenOpenLow

Low-severity issue, currently open.

Description

The issue as recorded.

Only the user menu FileView has onLoadFailed, and it clears userMenuItems to [] before rebuilding (anchors FV1/FV2). A transient read failure of the user extension erases every user entry until the next successful load. A failed default-file reload meanwhile silently keeps the old set. Neither behavior matches the documented behavior for a failed reload.

What protects you, and the fix

What limits your exposure today, and the planned remediation.

What protects you now

A failed reload that keeps the stale set leaves the menu usable; the wipe only hits the user file whose failure is otherwise silent

The fix

keep the last good items on failure for both files (drop the wipe), or surface the failure in the menu
