Omarchy

ProbeLabsviewing a historical run

A proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Known issueKI-MENU-SEARCH-TEXT-NORMALIZATION-MISSES

Search text misses: whole-word description matching drops punctuation-glued words and hyphenated alias forms

OpenOpenLow

Low-severity issue, currently open.

Description

The issue as recorded.

termInSearchWords requires whole-word equality, so a description word with trailing punctuation ('system.') never matches the term (F24a). A mixed-case term likewise never matches the lowercased haystack (F24b). matchesQuery's name path only sees the separator-folded rewrite of aliases and leaf ids. Querying the exact hyphenated form ('power-menu') therefore misses even though the author declared the alias that way.

What protects you, and the fix

What limits your exposure today, and the planned remediation.

What protects you now

case handling is correct for every in-tree caller (all pre-lowercase); only punctuation and exact-form matching are defective

The fix

strip edge punctuation before the whole-word compare and keep the untokenized alias/id text as an additional nameText component
