Omarchy

ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirements

A proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Original report

`omarchy toggle bar on` hides the bar (on/off are inverted)revision 1 · captured 2026-09-28 21:23 UTC via poll

Description

omarchy-toggle-bar passes its argument straight through to the bar-off flag:

omarchy-toggle bar-off "${1:-toggle}"

omarchy-toggle <flag> on creates the flag file, so omarchy toggle bar on creates ~/.local/state/omarchy/toggles/bar-off and hides the bar. omarchy toggle bar off removes the flag and shows it. Plain omarchy toggle bar (no argument) works correctly.

This is especially confusing when the bar is missing after a reboot: the flag persists, and the command a user would naturally run to fix it (omarchy toggle bar on) keeps the bar hidden.

Steps to reproduce

  1. With the bar visible, run omarchy toggle bar on
  2. The bar slides off screen; ls ~/.local/state/omarchy/toggles/ shows bar-off
  3. Run omarchy toggle bar off. The bar reappears and the flag is removed.

Expected

omarchy toggle bar on shows the bar; omarchy toggle bar off hides it.

Suggested fix

Invert the argument in bin/omarchy-toggle-bar before passing it on:

case "${1:-toggle}" in
  on) action=off ;;
  off) action=on ;;
  *) action="${1:-toggle}" ;;
esac

omarchy-toggle bar-off "$action"

## Description

`omarchy-toggle-bar` passes its argument straight through to the `bar-off` flag:

```bash
omarchy-toggle bar-off "${1:-toggle}"
```

`omarchy-toggle <flag> on` creates the flag file, so `omarchy toggle bar on` creates `~/.local/state/omarchy/toggles/bar-off` and **hides** the bar. `omarchy toggle bar off` removes the flag and **shows** it. Plain `omarchy toggle bar` (no argument) works correctly.

This is especially confusing when the bar is missing after a reboot: the flag persists, and the command a user would naturally run to fix it (`omarchy toggle bar on`) keeps the bar hidden.

## Steps to reproduce
