Omarchy

ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirements

A proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Original report

BIOS Splash Screen Doesn't Appear for Dual GPU Setupsrevision 1 · captured 2026-09-28 21:23 UTC via poll

System details

Omarchy 3.5.8, Nvidia 4080

What's wrong?

On my Omarchy 3.5.8 dual GPU setup my BIOS splash screen appears when I have the HDMI plugged into the primary GPU (Nvidia 4080) and I boot the computer. However, when I boot the computer with the HDMI plugged into the secondary GPU (Nvidia 3060) the BIOS splash screen never appears and the computer boots straight to the Omarchy login screen.

I prefer to leave HDMI plugged in so the Nvidia 3060 acts as a display driver and the Nvidia 4080 can be reserved for local AI tasks. With this preferred setup I forgo getting to see a BIOS splash screen on boot, which is sometimes needed, and I have to physically change the HDMI to the other GPU, then shutdown, then switch things back after I correct BIOS issues. I don't know if this is an Omarchy fix, Limine fix, BIOS fix?
