Proof Portal
Omarchy
ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirementsA proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Original report
System Details
- Omarchy version: 4.0.2-1
- WM: Hyprland (Wayland)
- CPU: Intel Core Ultra 9 386H
- GPU: Intel Panther Lake Graphics
Description
- Obsidian default `user-flags.conf` typo:
In Omarchy's default configuration template for Obsidian (config/obsidian/user-flags.conf), line 2 has a single-dash typo:
-disable-gpu
--enable-wayland-ime This causes invalid argument parsing in Electron. Additionally, on Wayland/Hyprland setups with HiDPI scaling, it lacks Wayland Ozone hinting (--ozone-platform-hint=auto / --enable-features=UseOzonePlatform), causing clicks not to register and visual rendering bugs in Obsidian.
- Missing floating rule for Mullvad VPN in `default/hypr/apps/`:
Mullvad VPN GUI is a companion popup with a fixed mobile-like aspect ratio. Because there is no rule in Omarchy's Hyprland defaults (unlike bitwarden.lua / 1password.lua), Hyprland forcibly tiles Mullvad across the entire workspace, causing the canvas map and UI to distort and stretch horizontally.
Adding o.window("^(Mullvad VPN|mullvad-vpn|Mullvad)$", { float = true, center = true, size = { 380, 640 } }) resolves this.
Steps to Reproduce
- Launch Obsidian on a fresh Omarchy install with 2x display scaling -> window controls disconnect and initial vault buttons fail to click.
- Launch Mullvad VPN on Hyprland -> window gets tiled full-screen with stretched/glitched map.
Expected Behavior
- Obsidian has valid flags and proper Wayland Ozone support.
- Mullvad VPN opens as a centered floating popup window.
