Omarchy

ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirements

A proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Original report

CJK font fallback always selects Korean variant regardless of localerevision 1 · captured 2026-09-28 21:24 UTC via poll

System details

Omarchy v4.0.2-1, Foot, JetBrainsMono Nerd Font
LANG=en_US.UTF-8 (default)

What's wrong?

CJK characters (e.g., "全", "骨", "円") always render with Korean variant (Noto Sans CJK KR) regardless of the user's locale. The sans-serif fallback chain in 65-nonlatin.conf only includes Noto Sans CJK KR, but not other CJK variants (JP, SC, TC, HK).

Steps to reproduce

  1. Use default settings on Omarchy v4.0.2-1 (LANG=en_US.UTF-8)
  2. Display "全" in Foot terminal → Korean variant
  3. Type "全" in Chrome omnibox input field → Korean variant
