ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirements

A proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Original report

System menu is not dismissed by clicks on another monitorrevision 1 · captured 2026-09-28 21:24 UTC via poll

What's wrong?

When the system menu (Shutdown, Reboot, etc.) is open on one monitor, clicking on another monitor does not dismiss it. The menu remains visible after focus moves to the other screen.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Use a multi-monitor setup.
  2. Open the system menu with Super + Escape on one monitor.
  3. Click the desktop or an application on another monitor.
  4. Observe that the system menu remains open.

Expected behavior

An outside click on any monitor should dismiss the system menu.

Actual behavior

Clicks on a different monitor do not dismiss the system menu.

Possibly relevant

The public shell/plugins/menu/Menu.qml implementation creates one full-screen PanelWindow containing the outside-click MouseArea. Its input coverage may therefore be limited to the screen on which the menu panel is shown.
