Omarchy

ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirements

A proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Original report

Wi-Fi scans move the password editor while typingrevision 1 · captured 2026-09-28 21:24 UTC via poll

System details

Omarchy Quattro at 43bfe9b9, using the NetworkManager-backed Wi-Fi panel on a physical laptop.

What's wrong?

When a secured network is selected, the password editor remains bound to the live scan result list. If access points appear, disappear, or reorder during entry, the expanded editor moves with its row and can disappear altogether. The controls visibly jump while the user is typing a credential.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open the Wi-Fi panel while multiple access points are in range.
  2. Select a secured network and begin entering its password.
  3. Allow the background scan to publish a changed or reordered network list.
  4. Observe the password editor move or collapse with the live row.

Expected behavior: background discovery may continue, but the visible network order and active credential editor should remain stable until entry is submitted or cancelled. The latest scan can become visible afterward.

The capture uses synthetic access-point data and performs no network actions.
