Proposal
Add optional active-window color inversion support to Omarchy using the Hypr-DarkWindow Hyprland plugin. This provides accessibility-focused negative colors without applying a global screen shader, which can flicker on Hyprland 0.56.x.
Working proof of concept
Tested on Omarchy with Hyprland 0.56.2:
hyprpm add https://github.com/micha4w/Hypr-DarkWindow v0.56.2
hyprpm enable Hypr-DarkWindow
hyprpm reloadBinding in ~/.config/hypr/bindings.lua:
if hl.plugin.darkwindow ~= nil then
o.bind(
"SUPER + ALT + I",
"Invert active window",
"hyprctl dispatch darkwindow:shadeactive invert"
)
endResult
Super+Alt+Itoggles inversion for the active window.- The binding appears in the
Super+Kkeybinding guide. - No global display flicker was observed.
- Hypr-DarkWindow provides the built-in
invertshader.
The plugin should likely remain optional because it is third-party and requires compiling a native Hyprland plugin. A version-matched plugin revision would be needed whenever Omarchy updates Hyprland.

## Proposal
Add optional active-window color inversion support to Omarchy using the Hypr-DarkWindow Hyprland plugin. This provides accessibility-focused negative colors without applying a global screen shader, which can flicker on Hyprland 0.56.x.
## Working proof of concept
Tested on Omarchy with Hyprland 0.56.2:
```bash
hyprpm add https://github.com/micha4w/Hypr-DarkWindow v0.56.2
hyprpm enable Hypr-DarkWindow
hyprpm reload
```
Binding in `~/.config/hypr/bindings.lua`:
```lua
if hl.plugin.darkwindow ~= nil then
o.bind(
"SUPER + ALT + I",
"Invert active window",
"hyprctl dispatch darkwindow:shadeactive invert"
)
end
```
## Result
- `Super+Alt+I` toggles inversion for the active window.
- The binding appears in the `Super+K` keybinding guide.
- No global display flicker was observed.
- Hypr-DarkWindow provides the built-in `invert` shader.
The plugin should likely remain optional because it is third-party and requires compiling a native Hyprland plugin. A version-matched plugin revision would be needed whenever Omarchy updates Hyprland.Validation
