Omarchy
ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirementsA proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Original report
\install/hardware/intel/ipu7-camera.sh\ detects camera hardware solely by ACPI HID \OVTI08F4\ (the \ov08x40\ sensor) and installs \intel-ipu7-camera\ whenever it matches. But \ov08x40\ is also paired with IPU6 on Meteor Lake (Core Ultra 100-series — e.g. HP Spectre x360 14 with Core Ultra 7 155H), not just IPU7 (Lunar/Panther Lake). On my machine the kernel loads \intel_ipu6\ (confirmed via \lsmod\/\dmesg\), but the installer still installed \intel-ipu7-camera\, which only ships the \ipu75xa.so\ CamHAL plugin. \icamerasrc\ then looks for \ipu6epmtl.so\ (correct for this chip) and fails to load any camera HAL, so \v4l2-relayd@ipu7\ produces a virtual \/dev/video50\ with no actual video — the webcam appears present in every app but shows a black/frozen frame.
Suggested fix: detect the IPU generation directly (e.g. \lspci\ for the IPU PCI device, or check which of \intel_ipu6\/\intel_ipu7\ bound) instead of sensor ACPI HID alone, and install \intel-ipu6-camera-hal-git\ + \icamerasrc-git\ (AUR) for IPU6 systems instead of \intel-ipu7-camera\.
Note: \intel-ipu6-camera-hal-git\ currently fails to build on GCC 16 due to upstream \-Werror\ catching newly-flagged \-Wunused-but-set-variable\ warnings — needed a local patch to build. Separately, on my hardware the IPU6 HAL's \ov08x40-uf.xml\ media-graph config requires a nonexistent \"Intel CVS"\ media entity (that chip isn't populated on this laptop), which also needed a local patch to bypass. Neither of those is Omarchy's bug, but worth knowing if you want the install script to also drop a working config for this sensor/platform combo.
Repro: HP Spectre x360 14, Intel Core Ultra 7 155H (Meteor Lake), \ov08x40\ sensor (ACPI HID \OVTI08F4\).
