Proof Portal
Omarchy
ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirementsA proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

System details
Omarchy: 4.0.0-1 (dev channel), installed 2026-08-15 - Kernel: 7.1.8-arch1-3 - Hyprland: 0.56.2 (v0.56.2, commit efb5099) - Quickshell: 0.3.0 (AUR quickshell-git, rev 28771c7) - GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6600/6600 XT/6600M (Navi 23)
What's wrong?
Version: dev channel (omarchy-version: dev)
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open background switcher (Super+Ctrl+Space, or omarchy theme bg-switcher)
2. Navigate to a different image using arrow keys or click to focus
3. Press Enter
Expected: The focused image is applied as the background and the picker closes.
Actual: Nothing happens. Enter has no effect. The picker stays open, background doesn't change.
Workaround that does work:
- Calling omarchy theme bg-switcher (or the keybind) a second time closes the picker and applies whatever is focused.
- Clicking an already-focused/selected image thumbnail a second time also applies it (per the onClicked logic in ImagePicker.qml).
Notes on where I looked:
- The keybind itself is registered correctly (confirmed via hyprctl binds, modmask 68 = SUPER+CTRL, key SPACE).
- ~/.local/share/omarchy/shell/plugins/image-picker/ImagePicker.qml line 417-418 has the Enter handler wired to root.applySelected(), and forceActiveFocus() is called both at line 57 and in Component.onCompleted at line 435 — so the logic looks correct on paper.
- Enter works normally everywhere else on my system (browser, other apps), so this appears to be scoped specifically to keyboard focus not reaching the carousel item inside this particular Quickshell popup, despite focus: true and the forceActiveFocus() calls.
I didn't attempt a fix since the file lives under a pacman-managed path and I don't have a way to test QML focus behavior blind.
