Omarchy

ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirements

A proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

System details

  • Distribution: Omarchy (Arch Linux base) - Component: CUPS / cups-filters / libcupsfilters - Affected Packages: cups-filters 2.0.1-2, libcupsfilters 2.2.1-2, libppd 2.1.1-2 - Hardware: Epson Network Printer (AirPrint / IPP-Everywhere compatible)

What's wrong?

Description

When setting up a network printer through standard mDNS/dnssd discovery, print jobs fail immediately and leave the queue in an "Idle" or "Filter failed" state without outputting paper.

Inspection of /var/log/cups/error_log revealed that the printing pipeline halted during PDF rasterization inside the universal / pdftopdf filter chain.
