Original report
No sound after reboot with headphones plugged in (Dell XPS 16 / sof-soundwire cs42l45)
Describe the bug
Rebooting with wired headphones already plugged in: no sound from headphones or speakers. The Omarchy bar audio widget correctly shows headphones plugged in. Unplug + replug restores headphone audio.
Not an Omarchy UI bug — PipeWire already selects the Headphones sink. Looks like ALSA UCM for cs42l45 never enables the analog path unless a jack-insert event fires.
Upstream: https://github.com/alsa-project/alsa-ucm-conf/issues/833
Steps to reproduce
- Leave 3.5 mm headphones plugged in.
- Reboot Omarchy.
- Play any audio.
- Observe: widget shows headphones; silence.
- Unplug and replug: sound works.
Expected
Audio on the selected output after boot, without cycling the jack.
Environment
- Omarchy 4.0.0-1
- Dell XPS 16 DA16260 (0H2HX9)
- sof-soundwire,
hs:cs42l45,spk:cs35l56 - linux 7.1.8.arch1-3, pipewire 1.6.8, wireplumber 0.5.15, alsa-ucm-conf 1.2.16.1-1
Workaround
Unplug and replug headphones (or restart PipeWire after a fake jack cycle).
