Omarchy
ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirementsA proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.
Wi-Fi 7 is disabled on every Core Ultra Series 3 laptop and every BE200 card, not just the Dell XPS it targets

Original report
System details: Omarchy quattro @ 7488eade (post-4.0.0), QEMU/KVM VM. Found by an automated QA pass; reproduced on a disposable worker VM. Source-proven only for the hardware gate — no Intel Wi-Fi hardware on the test machine.
install/hardware/intel/fix-wifi7-eht.sh disables Wi-Fi 7 on every Core Ultra Series 3 laptop and every BE200 card, not just the Dell XPS the workaround targets.
# Temporary fix for Dell XPS 14/16 on Panther Lake

options iwlwifi disable_11be=YThe comment scopes it to "Dell XPS 14/16 on Panther Lake", but the gate is PCI IDs alone with no DMI check, and it runs on every install via install/hardware/all.sh:25. Both IDs are far wider than that machine:
$ grep -A1 "^\t272b\|^\te440" /usr/share/hwdata/pci.ids

e440 Core Ultra Processors (Series 3) CNVi Wi-Fi
8086 0114 Wi-Fi 7 BE211 320MHz8086:e440 is the CNVi Wi-Fi block on the whole Core Ultra Series 3 (Panther Lake) family, every vendor — not just Dell. 8086:272b is the BE200, sold as an aftermarket M.2 upgrade for any laptop or desktop.
Every one of those machines gets /etc/modprobe.d/iwlwifi-disable-eht.conf written at install time and is silently capped at Wi-Fi 6. Users see roughly a third to a half of their expected throughput against a Wi-Fi 7 AP, there is no notice, and nothing in the menu turns it back on.
The sibling workaround in the same directory shows the shape that would fix it — install/hardware/intel/ptl-kernel.sh:4 pairs the model check with the platform check:
if omarchy-hw-match "XPS" && omarchy-hw-intel-ptl; thenCorrection, after an independent review of this report:
Two corrections. The gate is on the PCI IDs alone, so the accurate statement is "every adapter enumerating 8086:e440 or 8086:272b, whatever the machine" rather than "every Core Ultra Series 3 laptop". And the throughput figures above are not establishable from source -- disregard them; the provable claim is that EHT is disabled persistently and silently.
