Original report
Summary
The default binding SUPER + RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON → Resize window cannot be used on a laptop touchpad because Omarchy's default touchpad config makes right-click a two-finger tap, which is momentary and cannot be held for the drag that the resize binding requires.
Steps to reproduce
- Fresh Omarchy install (all default configs, no mouse).
- On the laptop touchpad, press and hold
SUPERand attempt to resize a window using the touchpad right-click:
- Two-finger tap + drag → nothing happens; the window never enters resize mode.
- Two-finger physical click + drag → also fails to resize reliably.
- The same binding works with a physical mouse (hold right button and drag).
Expected
The default resize binding should be usable on a touchpad, or the default touchpad configuration should provide a holdable right-click.
Root cause
- Default binding:
SUPER + mouse:273→hl.dsp.window.resize()with{ mouse = true }indefault/hypr/bindings/tiling.lua. This requires a sustained right-button press while dragging. - Default touchpad config in
default/hypr/input.luasetsclickfinger_behavior = true, so a right-click is a two-finger tap/physical click — a press-and-release that cannot be held. Laptops with tap-only touchpads therefore have no way to produce a held right-button event.
Suggested fix
Flip the default to clickfinger_behavior = false. The touchpad's lower-right corner press then produces a right-button event that can be held and dragged (SUPER + corner press + drag resizes correctly), while two-finger tap still right-clicks for menus/context menus.
Workaround (verified)
Add to ~/.config/hypr/input.lua:
hl.config({
input = {
touchpad = {
clickfinger_behavior = false,
},
},
})Keyboard resize hotkeys (SUPER + MINUS/EQUAL and SHIFT/ALT/CTRL variants) work regardless of touchpad settings.
System
- Omarchy 4.0.0-1
- Kernel: 7.1.8-arch1-3
- Hardware: Acer Aspire E5-531 (chassis: laptop)

## Summary
The default binding `SUPER + RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON` → **Resize window** cannot be used on a laptop touchpad because Omarchy's default touchpad config makes right-click a two-finger *tap*, which is momentary and cannot be held for the drag that the resize binding requires.
## Steps to reproduce
1. Fresh Omarchy install (all default configs, no mouse).
2. On the laptop touchpad, press and hold `SUPER` and attempt to resize a window using the touchpad right-click:
- Two-finger tap + drag → nothing happens; the window never enters resize mode.
- Two-finger physical click + drag → also fails to resize reliably.
3. The same binding works with a physical mouse (hold right button and drag).
## Expected
The default resize binding should be usable on a touchpad, or the default touchpad configuration should provide a *holdable* right-click.
## Root cause
- Default binding: `SUPER + mouse:273` → `hl.dsp.window.resize()` with `{ mouse = true }` in `default/hypr/bindings/tiling.lua`. This requires a **sustained** right-button press while dragging.
- Default touchpad config in `default/hypr/input.lua` sets `clickfinger_behavior = true`, so a right-click is a two-finger tap/physical click — a press-and-release that cannot be held. Laptops with tap-only touchpads therefore have no way to produce a held right-button event.
## Suggested fix
Flip the default to `clickfinger_behavior = false`. The touchpad's lower-right corner press then produces a right-button event that can be held and dragged (SUPER + corner press + drag resizes correctly), while two-finger tap still right-clicks for menus/context menus.
## Workaround (verified)
Add to `~/.config/hypr/input.lua`:
```lua
hl.config({
input = {
touchpad = {
clickfinger_behavior = false,
},
},
})
```
Keyboard resize hotkeys (`SUPER + MINUS/EQUAL` and `SHIFT`/`ALT`/`CTRL` variants) work regardless of touchpad settings.
