ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirements

A proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Summary

Hyprland crashes immediately when toggling float on a floating/pinned window that was left behind after its workspace was moved between monitors and back.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Focus a window and press Super + O to toggle float and pin it.
  2. Press Super + Alt + Shift + Arrow to move the current workspace to the other monitor.
  3. Move the workspace back to the original monitor with Super + Alt + Shift + Arrow in the opposite direction.
  4. Observe: the pinned/floating window did not travel with the workspace (it should have, or at least remain in a consistent state).
  5. Click the floating window to focus it.
  6. Press Super + O to toggle float off.

Expected

The window toggles back to tiled (or floats correctly) without crashing.

Actual

Hyprland crashes immediately on the float toggle in step 6.

Notes

  • Reproducible every time with the above sequence.
  • The floating/pinned window appears to end up in an inconsistent state after the workspace is shuffled between monitors, and toggling float on it is what triggers the crash.
