ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirements

A proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Original report

fcitx5 prohibits Multi-keyboard Modifier Use in Wayland Apps in Hyprlandrevision 1 · captured 2026-09-28 21:29 UTC via poll

System details

Omarchy v3.7.1, Framework Desktop, Kinesis Savant Elite2 Triple Pedal

What's wrong?

Using modifier keys on one keyboard and pressing keys on a different keyboard does not result in expected behavior in Wayland apps - XWayland apps work fine.
(I'm using foot pedals for modifier keys)

i.e
SHIFT on keyboard-A + a on keyboard-B
=> results in "a"
=> when it should result in "A"

Turning off fcitx5 resolves this issue with Wayland apps.

A similar or same issue has already been reported in the hyprland issue tracker https://github.com/hyprwm/Hyprland/discussions/9954
