Omarchy
ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirementsA proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Original report
Problem
Omarchy's ASUS hardware detection (omarchy-hw-asus-rog) only checks for ROG in /sys/class/dmi/id/product_family. ASUS TUF Gaming laptops (e.g. FX505GT) report TUF Gaming as their product family, so asusctl is never installed automatically during setup (skipped in install/packaging/asus-rog.sh).
TUF keyboards with asus::kbd_backlight and kbd_rgb_mode sysfs support work fine with asusctl once installed — the existing omarchy-theme-set-keyboard-asus-rog script works as-is.
Environment

## Problem Omarchy's ASUS hardware detection (`omarchy-hw-asus-rog`) only checks for `ROG` in `/sys/class/dmi/id/product_family`. ASUS TUF Gaming laptops (e.g. FX505GT) report `TUF Gaming` as their product family, so `asusctl` is never installed automatically during setup (skipped in `install/packaging/asus-rog.sh`). TUF keyboards with `asus::kbd_backlight` and `kbd_rgb_mode` sysfs support work fine with `asusctl` once installed — the existing `omarchy-theme-set-keyboard-asus-rog` script works as-is. ## Environment - Device: ASUS TUF Gaming FX505GT - Product family: `TUF Gaming` - Vendor: `ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC.` - asusctl: v6.3.4 - Keyboard LED: `asus::kbd_backlight` with `kbd_rgb_mode` sysfs support ## Steps to reproduce 1. Install Omarchy on an ASUS TUF laptop 2. `asusctl` is not installed automatically 3. Keyboard RGB theming via `omarchy-theme-set` has no effect ## Workaround Manually install `asusctl`: ```bash omarchy-pkg-add asusctl ```
