Omarchy
ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirementsA proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

System details
MSI Prestige 16 AI+ C3MTG; Intel Panther Lake Arc B390 (xe); Samsung ATNA60HR07-0 OLED; Omarchy 4.0.4-1; linux-omarchy 7.2.5-3.
What's wrong?
Summary
On the internal Samsung OLED panel, the top roughly fifth of the screen intermittently becomes corrupted. The corrupted band is either random pixel noise or a duplicate of the bottom fifth of the framebuffer. The rest of the desktop remains correct, the cursor continues moving, and moving the pointer through the bad band immediately redraws it.
This is not a full system freeze or general tearing problem.
Reproduction
- Boot the default Omarchy configuration without the three Xe display parameters below.
- Use the internal eDP-1 panel normally.
- When the corruption occurs, move the pointer through the affected top band; this forces the band to redraw.
The issue is intermittent, so I cannot provide a deterministic trigger beyond normal desktop use.
Workaround
Adding exactly these three kernel parameters fixes the problem completely:
xe.enable_psr2_sel_fetch=0 xe.enable_panel_replay=0 xe.enable_psr=0With those parameters present, the corruption has not reappeared. I have not needed to disable FBC or display C-states.
Kernel log
An affected/default boot logged:
xe 0000:00:02.0: [drm] Selective fetch area calculation failed in pipe AHistorical Omarchy workaround
This is the same class of workaround previously shipped in install/config/hardware/fix-intel-panther-lake-display.sh at commit fc79da1 (fc79da14), which added:
xe.enable_psr=0 xe.enable_panel_replay=0 xe.enable_fbc=0 xe.enable_dc=0That script was later removed in commit a70b05e8 with the explanation that new kernel patches made the display workarounds unnecessary. On this MSI/Samsung panel, the default configuration still reproduces the corruption, while the first three parameters from the old workaround fix it. FBC and display C-states are not required for the fix.

The relevant working command-line parameters are:
fred=on xe.enable_psr2_sel_fetch=0 xe.enable_panel_replay=0 xe.enable_psr=0Expected behavior
The internal panel should remain visually correct with the default kernel configuration, without requiring users to disable PSR2 selective fetch, Panel Replay, and PSR manually.
Additional context
The panel reports DisplayID support for Panel Replay. Similar Panther Lake display reports include selective-fetch and Panel Replay failures, but this MSI/Samsung panel has a distinct partial-band corruption symptom.
