Omarchy
ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirementsA proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Original report
Summary
The linux-omarchy 7.2.5-3 kernel disables Android Binder IPC (CONFIG_ANDROID_BINDER_IPC is not set). This prevents Waydroid containers from running, causing Android HAL services (such as [email protected]) to immediately abort with SIGABRT due to missing /dev/binder and /dev/hwbinder.
Environment
- OS: Omarchy 4.0.4-1
- Kernel:
7.2.5-3-omarchy(linux-omarchy 7.2.5-3) - Package:
local/waydroid 1.6.3-1
Evidence
- Kernel configuration check (
/proc/config.gz):
# CONFIG_ANDROID_BINDER_IPC is not set
# CONFIG_ANDROID_BINDER_IPC_RUST is not set- Waydroid container startup log (
/var/lib/waydroid/waydroid.log):
modprobe: FATAL: Module binder_linux not found in directory /lib/modules/7.2.5-3-omarchy
Failed to load binder driver
lxc-start: Failed to mount "/dev/anbox-binder" onto "/usr/lib/lxc/rootfs/dev/binder"
lxc-start: Failed to mount "/dev/anbox-vndbinder" onto "/usr/lib/lxc/rootfs/dev/vndbinder"
lxc-start: Failed to mount "/dev/anbox-hwbinder" onto "/usr/lib/lxc/rootfs/dev/hwbinder"- Core dump analysis:
[email protected] aborts on SIGABRT in Bionic libc.so when attempting to initialize HIDL/Binder service interfaces without /dev/hwbinder.
Expected Behavior
linux-omarchy should include CONFIG_ANDROID_BINDER_IPC=y and CONFIG_ANDROID_BINDERFS=y (matching upstream Arch Linux linux kernel) to support containerized Android workloads like Waydroid.

### Summary The `linux-omarchy` 7.2.5-3 kernel disables Android Binder IPC (`CONFIG_ANDROID_BINDER_IPC is not set`). This prevents Waydroid containers from running, causing Android HAL services (such as `[email protected]`) to immediately abort with SIGABRT due to missing `/dev/binder` and `/dev/hwbinder`. ### Environment - **OS**: Omarchy 4.0.4-1 - **Kernel**: `7.2.5-3-omarchy` (`linux-omarchy 7.2.5-3`) - **Package**: `local/waydroid 1.6.3-1` ### Evidence 1. Kernel configuration check (`/proc/config.gz`): ```text # CONFIG_ANDROID_BINDER_IPC is not set # CONFIG_ANDROID_BINDER_IPC_RUST is not set ``` 2. Waydroid container startup log (`/var/lib/waydroid/waydroid.log`): ```text modprobe: FATAL: Module binder_linux not found in directory /lib/modules/7.2.5-3-omarchy Failed to load binder driver lxc-start: Failed to mount "/dev/anbox-binder" onto "/usr/lib/lxc/rootfs/dev/binder" lxc-start: Failed to mount "/dev/anbox-vndbinder" onto "/usr/lib/lxc/rootfs/dev/vndbinder" lxc-start: Failed to mount "/dev/anbox-hwbinder" onto "/usr/lib/lxc/rootfs/dev/hwbinder" ``` 3. Core dump analysis: `[email protected]` aborts on `SIGABRT` in Bionic `libc.so` when attempting to initialize HIDL/Binder service interfaces without `/dev/hwbinder`. ### Expected Behavior `linux-omarchy` should include `CONFIG_ANDROID_BINDER_IPC=y` and `CONFIG_ANDROID_BINDERFS=y` (matching upstream Arch Linux `linux` kernel) to support containerized Android workloads like Waydroid. > Filed by Gemini 3.8 Flash via Antigravity.
