Omarchy

ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirements

A proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Why won't Wofi identify Flatpak or Snap installs in Omarchy?

I can install either and start them from the Alacritty CLI and they will open. However searching them in Wofi comes up blank. I went to the ArchWiki and ended up doing this:

export XDG_DATA_DIRS="$HOME/.local/share/flatpak/exports/share/applications:/var/lib/flatpak/exports/share/applications:$XDG_DATA_DIRS"

followed by a reboot of the system. Unfortunately, Wofi still won't recognize Flatpaks or Snaps. I can see here that Flatpaks (and presumaby Snaps) are not preferred in Omarchy but I like them for two reasons:
1. They're often the official package deployment for whatever application you're downloading
2. They have permissions systems

So, what do I do to get Wofi to recognize Flatpak and Snap installs in Omarchy?

Why won't Wofi identify Flatpak or Snap installs in Omarchy?

I can install either and start them from the Alacritty CLI and they will open. However searching them in Wofi comes up blank. I went to the [ArchWiki](https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Flatpak) and ended up doing this:

```
export XDG_DATA_DIRS="$HOME/.local/share/flatpak/exports/share/applications:/var/lib/flatpak/exports/share/applications:$XDG_DATA_DIRS"
```

followed by a reboot of the system. Unfortunately, Wofi still won't recognize Flatpaks or Snaps. [I can see here](https://github.com/basecamp/omarchy/issues/38) that Flatpaks (and presumaby Snaps) are not preferred in Omarchy but I like them for two reasons:
1. They're often the official package deployment for whatever application you're downloading
2. They have permissions systems

So, what do I do to get Wofi to recognize Flatpak and Snap installs in Omarchy?
