Omarchy

ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirements

A proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Dotfile for Primary Prompt Customizationrevision 1 · captured 2026-10-04 11:26 UTC via poll

I've learned my Omarchy rule #1 and am no longer modifying files that live in ~/.local/share/omarchy and instead only modifying ~/.config/* files to customize my Omarchy instance. This prevents overwrites of modified ~/.local/share/omarchy/* files during updates (i.e. wiping out some/all of my modifications).

My issue is I can't find anything in ~/.config/* to modify my primary prompt. The default primary prompt is a basic ⇒ with no path, no user ID, no nothing. I appreciate the simplicity and elegance but for my needs a PS1 that includes path and other info something like

PS1='\[\033[36m\]\u\[\033[m\]@\[\033[32m\]\h:\[\033[33;1m\]\w\[\033[m\]\$ '

is more useful (so I don't have to constantly pwd to know where I am). To modify the primary prompt I have to modify ~/.local/share/omarchy/default/bash/prompt and change PS1=... which breaks rule #1. I don't want to break the rules. Is it possible to get some type of dotfile that allows prompt customization?
