Hi, I'm using Acer Predator Helios 300, NVIDIA RTX 3070. I’m running into a serious GPU issue that I suspect may be indirectly triggered by something in the omarchy-theme-set script or the Hyprland reload it triggers.

What happens:

  • If I boot on battery, everything works fine — GPU renders normally.
  • As soon as I plug in the charger, the GPU breaks — Wayland rendering glitches or freezes.
  • HDMI output also stops working when this happens — I can't connect to any external monitor.
  • Unplugging the charger doesn’t fix it. The only fix is a full reboot while on battery.
  • This happens consistently, every time.

What I found:

  • The issue seems tied to an ACPI power event triggered when the charger is plugged in.
  • The omarchy-theme-set script calls hyprctl reload and restarts components like swayosd-server. That may indirectly trigger a power profile or config that causes the GPU to fail.
