Omarchy

ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirements

A proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Original report

Suggestion: set main mod key with variablerevision 1 · captured 2026-10-04 11:27 UTC via poll

It would be possibly helpful to be able to set the main mod key (and probably a secondary) in a variable in the ~/.config/hypr/hyprland.conf file.

To use myself as an example, SUPER is not convenient or comfortable with my usual workflow so I would rather use ALT (since there are 2 of them on all my keyboards but only one SUPER). Having a default config that has something like:

$mainMod = SUPER
$secMod = ALT

would make the bindings more finger friendly while avoiding as many conflicts as possible since users could easily see that changing $mainMod to ALT would conflict so $secMod would have to be updated as well.

Just a thought.
