Omarchy

ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirements

A proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Feature Request: Include Oh My Posh or Starship as default prompt optionsrevision 1 · captured 2026-10-04 11:27 UTC via poll

Description

I’d like to suggest adding Oh My Posh or Starship as default prompt options/themes in the project. Both provide modern, highly customizable, and visually appealing shell prompts that work across multiple shells (bash, zsh, fish, PowerShell).

Why this would be beneficial

  • Improved out-of-the-box experience with polished and informative prompts
  • Broad shell compatibility (supports bash, zsh, PowerShell, and more)
  • Easy customization with extensive theming options
  • Active development and strong community support

Additional idea

A nice enhancement would be to customize the Oh My Posh or Starship themes to align with Omarcy themes, creating an even more cohesive and visually stunning Omakase setup. For example, Starship already includes many popular themes found in Omarcy such as Tokyo Night, Catppuccin, and Gruvbox, which would help unify the look and feel across the terminal and prompt.

Additional context

  • Oh My Posh is compatible with both Bash and Zsh, making it versatile for many users.
  • Starship is known for its speed, minimalism, and broad shell support.
  • Including either (or both) as default options would give users a solid, attractive prompt setup without extra manual configuration.

Would love to see this considered in the roadmap!
