Omarchy

ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirements

A proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Fails to install in chroot due to use of systemctl enable --nowrevision 1 · captured 2026-10-04 11:27 UTC via poll

Hey,

I'm trying to add Omarchy support to a new, maintained version of the ALMA Arch Linux LiveUSB creator here - https://github.com/jamesmcm/alma-nv/pull/17

(Note the original, archived repo is here - https://github.com/r-darwish/alma , and I wrote about it a few years ago: https://jamesmcm.github.io/blog/alma/ )

But I can't get it to install in a chroot due to the use of systemctl --now e.g.:

if ! command -v iwctl &>/dev/null; then
  yay -S --noconfirm --needed iwd
  sudo systemctl enable --now iwd.service
fi

This throws:

--now cannot be used when systemd is not running or in conjunction with --root=/--global, refusing.

For now I can probably make it filter out the --now at runtime with some regex, etc. - but in general it might be nice to improve the resilience of the scripts to this (also for the future ISO installer!), with something like:

if ! command -v iwctl &>/dev/null; then
  yay -S --noconfirm --needed iwd
  sudo systemctl enable iwd.service
  # Only try to start if we're not in a chroot
  if systemctl is-system-running &>/dev/null; then
    sudo systemctl start iwd.service
  fi
