Omarchy

ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirements

A proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Original report

Screensaver loadrevision 1 · captured 2026-10-04 11:27 UTC via poll

I'm loving the screensaver, but I noticed that a few seconds after it activates my laptop cooling fans kick in.

Monitoring core temps I found they rise by more than 10°C when the screensaver is active. CPU load average does increase x5 over general desktop usage, but is still insignificant. This is a gaming laptop, so the problem is the GPU load increases (from 1% goes to nearly 70%).

It's not a huge deal and I'm sure any users won't notice, but in IMO you don't really want a mobile device to use more power when it's not being actively used!
