Omarchy

ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirements

A proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Original report

New Starship init overriding prompt customizationrevision 1 · captured 2026-10-04 11:35 UTC via poll

After the change to include a default eval "$(starship init bash)", you can no longer use oh-my-posh or manually set PS1=... in ~/.bashrc.

I'm not sure what the best way to "turn off starship" would be, currently I'm just commenting out the whole if block in ~/.local/share/omarchy/default/bash/init but I'm not sure how well that will hold up through updates.

It's also a problem as the default .bashrc says you can override the prompt with PS1=..., which doesn't work anymore.

I would suggest moving the starship init to the default .bashrc, so that it can be used or easy turned off. I'm happy to open a PR to do that.
