Omarchy

ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirements

A proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Original report

Add out of the box T2 MacBook supportrevision 1 · captured 2026-10-04 11:35 UTC via poll

What do you need?

We want to include as much capability for as many systems as we can, especially these pesky MacBooks. It looks like the T2s are viable and have some work done around them so I'd like to capture some of that here and track some progress toward how we could pull this into the core offering.

So far, these are the things I know we need to do...

  • Determine a way to ID T2 devices during install
  • Add install/hardware/apple-t2.sh to handle all T2 needs
  • Add MODULES=(btrfs hid_apple apple_bce usbhid xhci_hcd) to /etc/mkinitcpio.conf
  • Add necessary modules to Omarchy ISO
  • @nunix has a start on this https://github.com/nunix/archiso-t2
  • Ideally, be able to share just 1 ISO vs having 1 for T2 and 1 for everything else
