Can't install on 2011 Macbook Air

Omarchy > 2.0, 2 Macbooks Air with 4Gb RAM and i5/i7 CPUs
What's wrong?
I've been trying to revive old Macbook Air laptops from 2011.
With Omarchy transfered to a USB stick, I press Alt as usual, select the USB drive and...nothing. The whole thing freezes and nothing happens. If I unplug the USB drive the laptop reboots.
I tried a USB hard drive as well as a plain old USB drive, I tried transferring Omarchy with Balena Etcher and dd, nothing helped.
I tried with Ubuntu 24.04, it installed without any issue.
Am I missing something?
EDIT: use Ventoy, Omarchy 3.0 and onwards, boot using Grub2. Works like a charm!
