Omarchy

ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirements

A proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Original report

Built-in MacBook Pro 2016 (13,1) Keyboard Not Working at LUKS Password Promptrevision 1 · captured 2026-10-04 11:35 UTC via poll

System details

MacBook Pro 2016 13” non Touch Bar, Latest Omarchy

What's wrong?

On my laptop, the built-in keyboard is not recognized at the LUKS encryption password prompt during boot. The system only accepts input from an external USB keyboard, but once the system finishes booting, the built-in keyboard works normally.

What I already tried:
• Added applespi, spi_pxa2xx_platform, spi_pxa2xx_core, and mac_hid to MODULES in /etc/mkinitcpio.conf
• Regenerated initramfs with mkinitcpio -P
• Edited HOOKS in /etc/mkinitcpio.conf, placing keyboard and keymap before autodetect (as suggested on Arch forums)

The keyboard still isn’t available in the initramfs stage.

Is there a way to fix this?
Or is it possible to not enable encryption during installation?
