What's wrong?

I use an US keyboard using the international variant with altgr dead keys. Selecting the keyboard as such in the waybar toolbar tool is not enough, and I had to edit .config/hypr/input.conf to add : 

  kb_layout = us
  kb_variant = altgr-intl

I'm wondering if I missused the tool or this should be actually aligned. without this modification programs like the terminal , nvim or even VSCode will not apply the int altgr variant

### What's wrong?
