Omarchy

ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirements

A proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

What's wrong?

Hi,

I’m having an issue installing Omarchy using Ventoy as my first boot device. Recently, I tried installing Omarchy with a 32GB SanDisk USB stick prepared with the latest version of Ventoy (1.1.07). On this USB, I have several Linux ISO images and a Windows image — all of which work as intended. The only one that doesn’t boot is the Omarchy ISO.

My system has a UEFI BIOS with Secure Boot disabled. Ventoy boots normally, and I can select the Omarchy 3.0.1 ISO. After a few seconds, the Omarchy logo appears, but it never goes away. I waited for almost half an hour, but nothing changed. I then rebooted and tried again, but the same issue occurred.

Workaround

I created a bootable USB with only Omarchy (using the same ISO I had downloaded earlier), without Ventoy. Everything worked flawlessly, and I was able to successfully install Omarchy.

I’m not sure whether this is an Omarchy issue or a Ventoy issue, but since this is the only ISO with problems, I decided to post it here.

If you need my assistance, please let me know. 🙂

Thanks to everyone on the team for your time and effort in making computers fun again. 💙
