Omarchy
ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirementsA proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

System details
Omarchy 3.0, 4TB SSD
What's wrong?
Attempting to install Omarchy 3.0 on a 4TB hard disk halts and shows this error in the log:
File "/usr/lib/python3.13/site-packages/archinstall/lib/disk/device_handler.py", line 562, in _setup_partition raise DiskError(f'Unable to add partition, most likely due to overlapping sectors: {ex}') from ex archinstall.lib.exceptions.DiskError: Unable to add partition, most likely due to overlapping sectors: partition length of 7809837056 sectors exceeds the msdos-partition-table-imposed maximum of 4294967295I've tried using gdisk to wipe the disk and set GPT on it. if I then run the verify command, gdisk says it's valid. If I then run the Omarchy installer (which halts) and go back to gdisk, it now says it's invalid.
I've also tried using blkdiscard and used dd to set a heap of zeros at the beginning, but it's the same error each time unfortunately. (Thanks to helpful suggestions in the Discord channel)
Perhaps the installer isn't setting GPT correctly.
