Omarchy

ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirements

A proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

System details

Asus Vivobook S14 - Mediatek Wifi card

What's wrong?

Hi,

My wifi card recently stopped working. So I decided to reinstall Omarchy (first time with the ISO, it was fast !) and everything was fine until I updated the system. After some trial, you just have to downgrade the kernel and the mediatek firmware to linux-firmware-mediatek 20250808-1 and kernel 6.16.7 :

yay -S downgrade
sudo downgrade linux linux-firmware-mediatek

When prompted for firmware version, pick kernel 6.16.7 and linux-firmware-mediatek 20250808-1.
You should also be asked if you want to add the packages as IgnorePkg, I recommend to choose yes until a fix is available (manually you can add a line to /etc/pacman.conf, IgnorePkg = linux linux-headers linux-firmware linux-firmware-mediatek).
