Omarchy

ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirements

A proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Original report

Installer fails on OMarchy 3.0.1: error: target not found: alsa-firmware (Pacstrap fails)revision 1 · captured 2026-10-04 11:35 UTC via poll

System details

AMD R7 5700 + RX6600 XT 40GB DDR4 RAM

What's wrong?

Description

On a fresh boot of OMarchy 3.0.1 the installation consistently stops during pacstrap with:

:: Synchronizing package databases...
offline downloading...
error: target not found: alsa-firmware
ERROR: Failed to install packages to new root

It looks like the default package profile still includes alsa-firmware, which is no longer available in Arch repos. The installer then aborts with exit code 0, but the UI shows a fatal stop.

Expected behavior

Installer should complete, or at least skip/remove alsa-firmware automatically (or replace it with a current equivalent like sof-firmware if needed), instead of failing the whole run.
