Omarchy

ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirements

A proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Errors when using ollama installer for older 1080ti graphics cardsrevision 1 · captured 2026-10-04 11:35 UTC via poll

System details

2 nvidia 1080ti cards on fresh install of omarchy

What's wrong?

Apologies if this is more of a local configuration problem and not an omarchy problem, but I know that you have put a lot of work into making omarchy an out of the box experience (i've seen the threads on auto detecting and installing nvidia drivers), so i wanted to bring this to your attention.

My steps to get here:
1. Fresh install omarchy
2. use the ollama install item from the install > ai > ollama menu
3. ollama serve in a terminal
4. in another terminal, ollama pull any model
5. ollama run model

The model loads in the terminal just fine, but when I enter any prompt, i get the following error:
/build/ollama/src/ollama/ml/backend/ggml/ggml/src/ggml-cuda/common.cuh:106: ggml was not compiled with any CUDA arch <= 610

The 1080ti's use compute 6.1, and it appears that the compiled cuda libraries weren't compiled to use the right compute version.

I think to fix this I need to recompile ollama cuda from source, so that I can pass in the "-DCMAKE_CUDA_ARCHITECTURES=61" flag?

First, any nudge in the right direction to keep me on the right track would be helpful. Second, if there is any testing or way to make this easier for other omarchy users that you would like me to do, let me know.
