discord/vesktop screen sharing does not work

What's wrong?
it only worked once using the web app when I first intalled the OS. it has not worked since. I've tried the web app, the extra/discord package, the aur/vesktop-bin package, the aur/discord-canary package, and the aur/vesktop package. none of them worked. the discord packages had me select the screen using pipewire, then it tried to screen share, but it never loaded. the vesktop packages don't even try to load it. they just asked me to select the screen, then did nothing. and I couldn't select it again.
