ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirements

A proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Original report

Add more keyboard layouts at installation (for disk decryption)revision 1 · captured 2026-10-04 11:35 UTC via poll

What do you need?

Hi,

During installation, Omarchy currently only offers a very limited set of keyboard layouts (for example, FR = AZERTY). This becomes problematic when using alternative layouts such as Ergo-L, BEPO, Dvorak, etc.

Since the disk decryption prompt at boot uses the keymap defined at installation, users who don’t type their passphrases in AZERTY/QWERTY layouts are effectively blocked or forced to enter their passphrase on a mismatched layout.

Feature request:
Can you please provide a wider choice of keyboard layouts at install time (or at least allow users to pick from the full keymaps list in kbd). That way, the correct layout is applied already in the initramfs stage and can be used for entering the disk decryption password.

This would greatly improve accessibility and usability for users with non-standard keyboard layouts.
