Omarchy

ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirements

A proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Original report

Pressing ESC at login screen opens terminal where password can be enteredrevision 1 · captured 2026-10-04 11:35 UTC via poll

System details

intel i5 6500, 16gb ram, no dedicated GPU

What's wrong?

When I’m at the Omarchy login screen, if I press the ESC key, instead of doing nothing, it switches to a terminal-like prompt. There, I can type my password and log in. I’m not sure if this is intended behavior, but it seems like a potential bug or security concern.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Boot into Omarchy.
2. At the login screen, press ESC.
3. Notice that it drops into a terminal prompt.
4. Type your password, it logs in successfully.

I'm expecting
Pressing Esc should not bypass the normal login UI or expose a shell-like login prompt.
