ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirements

A proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Original report

Add initramfs timeout to auto-shutdown if FDE password not entered within 30 minutesrevision 1 · captured 2026-10-04 11:35 UTC via poll

Description

Currently, when the full-disk encryption (FDE) prompt appears at boot, the system will wait indefinitely for user input. It would be nice to have an timeout mechanism that automatically shuts down the machine if no password is entered within a set period (e.g., 30 minutes).

Motivation

  • The motivation for this is that it prevents OLED burn-in from static FDE prompt elements when left unattended
  • Avoids battery drain if a laptop stays powered on at the unlock prompt.
