Omarchy

ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirements

A proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Original report

Chromium asks for keyring password on every startuprevision 1 · captured 2026-10-04 11:42 UTC via poll

System details

XPS 15 9500 - Intel i7-10750H - Omarchy v3.0.2

What's wrong?

Every time chromium is opened it asks for a password for a "default keyring":

<img width="1187" height="611" alt="Image" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/e5a4775c-b934-49d2-bd2e-1a5de6d28555" />

When I set a password it asks me every time I open chromium to enter it which is a bit cumbersome.

I temporarily solved the issue by adding --password-store=basic to the chromium desktop entry and my keybindings. But I don't think that is a particularly clean solution.

Addendum: Just noticed that this also affects all web-apps. Everytime I open a web app a pop up related to the "default keyring" pop's up. So a more robust fix is most welcome.
