Project overview

Omarchy

ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirements

A proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Original report

Speakers not working on Huawei Laptopsrevision 1 · captured 2026-10-04 11:42 UTC via poll

System details

Tested on Huawei B3 520 Laptop, But it's mainly the same on all other Huawei Laptops

What's wrong?

This is a bug not related to omarchy but related to audio drivers that these laptops use. I'm just leaving this issue here so others don't pull their hair out when using omarchy.

On arch in general the default pipewire setup doesn't play audio on this laptop. Switching completely to pulseaudio fixes audio issue but will break video playback.

The fix that worked for me on all arch systems:

sudo pacman -Sy
sudo pacman -S alsa-utils
sudo nvim /etc/modprobe.d/audio-fix.conf

add these lines and save

options snd_hda_intel model=dell-headset-multi options snd_sof_intel_hda_common sof_intel_hda_common_use_common_hdmi=1

reboot
