Omarchy
ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirementsA proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

System details
BT+AC600, Dell Optiplex 3050, Omarchy 3
What's wrong?
I recently installed Omarchy on a Dell Optiplex 3050 machine that doesn't have an internal wifi adapter. This machine had a BT+AC600 wifi dongle, and the installation process doesn't recognize it. I don't have a wired cable to connect to the Internet, so it was quite challenging and time-consuming to get it working.
The entire process was documented here: https://axiacore.com/blog/how-to-configure-btac600-wi-fi-dongle-on-arch-linux-992/
It will be so much easier if the system includes the usb_modeswitch by default, so you don't have to manually get it somewhere else and then copy it to the machine. If this package is preloaded, it is much easier to make it work for anyone using a wifi dongle.
I don't mean to make the whole process automated; I want the package to be shipped with the distribution, since not having internet makes it very challenging to make it work.
Anyone (like me) can do it manually, it's just that it takes too long. I almost gave up entirely.
