Omarchy

ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirements

A proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Original report

Setup fails to set the password if it starts with "-"revision 1 · captured 2026-10-04 11:42 UTC via poll

System details

VirtualBox on FreeBSD, Omarchy 2.0

What's wrong?

This might be a minor issue, but whenever the password starts with a dash ("-"), the passwd command used by the setup will consider it as an option, not the password, and will just show it on the screen in an error message suggesting a wrong option. But after the error the installation proceeds. It will not be successful, though, and the user will not be able to log in.
