Omarchy

ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirements

A proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Enhancement: Select which apps to install during omarchy installationrevision 1 · captured 2026-10-04 11:42 UTC via poll

What do you need?

Just putting it out there and maybe a controversial topic because I know this is an opinionated distribution and with that comes a bunch of configured apps

But a barrier for entry for me is that there is alot of apps that I simply do not want installed (along with whatever keybind shortcuts or configuration they come with). Im trying to get excited about this but i dont want bloat keybinds for ChatGPT, or Spotify, or LibreOffice.

I am well aware that there may be some manual intervention after installation I can take to uninstall these, but id rather not.

Its perhaps likely as the project gets older and more bloat gets added you may need a feature for allowing users to select which apps to install.

I would like to see as part of the installer a multi-select box of all of the applications/added features and have the choice of either installing them or not during the omarchy setup installation wizard. Feel free by default to have all of these selected, but the choice of not installing some of them would be nice.
