Omarchy
ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirementsA proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

System details
MSI Vector 16 Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX 32GB 1TB SSD RTX5080
What's wrong?
External SSD not detected as bootable after update (appears only after multiple reboots)
Description:
I installed Omarchy on an external SSD connected via USB (MSI Vector 16 laptop).
Everything worked fine for a few days. Then I used Omarchy’s built-in updater to update the system. The update completed successfully and the system rebooted automatically.
After the reboot, Omarchy SSD no longer appeared as a bootable device.
When I booted into Windows and checked Device Manager, I could see the SSD, so the drive itself was detected. However, in the BIOS/boot menu, the SSD was not listed as a boot option.
I tried rebooting 4–5 times with a few minutes between attempts, and eventually the SSD appeared again as a bootable device without any changes in BIOS, and Omarchy booted normally. Since then, it works fine again.
Additional info:
Laptop: MSI Vector 16
Installation target: External SSD (USB)
No changes to BIOS/UEFI/Secure Boot settings
Issue occurred only right after an update
Drive was visible in Windows Device Manager but missing from BIOS boot list
After multiple reboots, it became bootable again
Current status:
Currently working fine, but the issue might happen again after future updates.
