Omarchy

ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirements

A proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

System details

Omarchy 3.1.0

What's wrong?

Yesterday after upgrading to 3.1.0 the Omarchy menu broke and does not open up. System does not show any other updates available, I already restarted multiple times but the problem persists. I'm observing a similar behavior as described on this previous issue https://github.com/basecamp/omarchy/issues/504

When running omarchy-menu on the terminal I get this:

(walker:31609): Gtk-WARNING **: 09:31:26.174: Locale not supported by C library.
        Using the fallback 'C' locale.
Invalid byte sequence in conversion input

I can also replicate it with this:

walker --width 644 --maxheight 300 --minheight 300 --dmenu --width 295 --minheight 1 --maxheight 600 -p "Go…"

But if I remove -p Go..., then it works:

walker --width 644 --maxheight 300 --minheight 300 --dmenu --width 295 --minheight 1 --maxheight 600"
