Omarchy

ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirements

A proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Original report

Unable to configure first Android Studio dialog ("Send usage statistics") under Omarchyrevision 1 · captured 2026-10-04 11:42 UTC via poll

System details

Beelink SER9 Pro AI Mini PC - Omarchy version-3.0.1

What's wrong?

When launching Android Studio for the first time under Omarchy, the initial dialog asking to “Send usage statistics” or “Don’t send” appears but neither button is clickable.

This seems to be caused by JetBrains-specific window rules in Omarchy (nofocus and noinitialfocus) that prevent focus on dialogs with empty or space-only titles.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Start a fresh Omarchy session.
  2. Launch Android Studio for the first time (so the usage dialog appears).
  3. Attempt to click “Send usage statistics” or “Don’t send”.
  4. Notice that neither button responds.

Actual Behavior

The dialog is visible, but cannot receive focus or clicks.

Expected Behavior

The dialog should be interactive allowing users to choose an option and continue launching Android Studio normally.

Root Cause

Current JetBrains window rules suppress focus for all windows with empty (^$) or whitespace-only (^\\s$) titles.
Android Studio’s first dialog has an empty title, so it inherits these restrictions unintentionally.

Environment

  • Device: Beelink SER9 Pro AI Mini PC
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX
  • Omarchy version: 3.0.1
  • Display server: Hyprland (Wayland)
  • Operating system: Arch Linux
  • Affected config: jetbrains.conf (and indirectly windows.conf)
  • Android Studio version: Latest stable (JetBrains-based)

Additional Context

This issue affects the first-launch experience for Android Studio and potentially other JetBrains IDEs that display empty-title dialogs.
Fixing it improves usability without introducing regressions.
