Omarchy

ProbeLabs65 findings · 95 requirements

A proof layer — requirements, tests and verified fixes — for two of Omarchy's subsystems: the application menu (launcher scripts, QML model, JSONC config, search and selection) and the lock screen (lock scripts, QML, PAM authentication). Scope is deliberately limited to those components of omacom/omarchy; the rest of the distribution is not covered.

Original report

Screenrecording not workingrevision 1 · captured 2026-10-04 11:42 UTC via poll

System details

Omarchy 3.1.5, AMD R260

What's wrong?

whenever I hit Alt + Printscreen and screenrecord, the indication on the top is that it's recording and ending tells me it saves in ~/Videos . However no such thing takes place.

Running omarchy-cmd-screen record in terminal gives me this output

gsr info: gsr_kms_client_init: setting up connection to /usr/bin/gsr-kms-server
gsr info: gsr_kms_client_init: waiting for server to connect
kms server info: connecting to the client
gsr info: gsr_kms_client_init: server connected
gsr info: replacing file-backed unix domain socket with socketpair
kms server info: connected to the client
gsr info: using socketpair
gsr error: no video encoder was specified and neither h264, hevc nor av1 are supported on your system or you are trying to capture at a resolution higher than your system supports for each **codec**

I assume this has something to do with me having an older GPU. Weird that there's no software encoder.
